INTRODUCTION TO ICE FISHING CLASS
Who: Area Youth and their parents
What: Introduction to ice Fishing
When February 19 from 6:30-8:00pm
Where: In the Emergency Operations Center Room (EOC) at the Courthouse in Washburn
This class is being taught by Darren Miller, Operations Supervisor of the Les Voigt Fish Hatchery and life long fisherman
Darren will provide an overview of Tools of the Trade along with Ice Safety, proper gear for what you are fishing for and transition into setting up difference fishing systems.
During this Workshop you will learn how to use different rod set ups to match they types of fish you are trying to catch.
Participants will also learn how different hooks, jigs and lures can be used and how to attach them to lines and leaders.
All participants if accompanied by an adult will qualify to access the 4-H Ice Fishing equipment which includes:
2 Pop up light weight ice shelters
1 Electric Ice Auger
1 Hand Auger
1 Vexlar
2 Sleds
13 Ice fishing rods
15 Tip ups
2 minnow buckets
6 hole skimmers
3 Seats
