What is Community Development?

The Community Development office in Bayfield County provides educational programming to assist leaders, communities, and organizations realize their fullest potential. We work with communities to build the vitality that enhances their quality of life and enriches the lives of their residents. We educate in leadership development, organizational development, food systems, community economic development, local government education and much more. In short, the Community Development Institute plants and cultivates the seeds for thriving communities and organizations.

Run For It! Running For Local Office.

Kellie Pederson, Community Development Educator, facilitates a strategic planning session using the interactive ToP Facilitation method.
Working with local EDC’s and Chambers to collaborate on regional economic development initiatives.
Working with Non-profit leaders to creatively meet the needs of local residents.
Convening the Regional Housing Coalition to address affordable housing issues in the area.
Supporting entrepreneurs with educational and networking events.
