November-December 4-H Family Newsletter

Now that you have enrolled for the 2012-2013 4-H Year, you may be asking the question, “Now what do I do?” The answer varies depending on your role in the 4-H Program. For project leaders: You should start by setting a date for your first project meeting. 4-H project leaders should plan on leading 4-6 project meetings. You can ask either your club organizational leader or the 4-H office for a list of members enrolled in the project and communicate to them the meeting date, time and place.

New and re-enrollment packets were distributed at the 4-H Leaders meeting on Monday, September 17. As you start thinking about the upcoming 4-H year, take a moment to talk about the 4-H program with friends and neighbors and invite them to join your club. Word of mouth is the best way to communicate the benefits of the 4-H program.

The Bayfield County 4-H Cultural Arts Festival will take place Saturday, April 28 at the Drummond High School. This annual 4-H event showcases the rich artistic talents of Bayfield County 4-H members and leaders. All 4-H members are encouraged to participate regardless of whether you have enrolled in a Cultural Arts related project. Look through the entry forms at the end of this newsletter and start thinking about how you would like to encourage the development of your son’s or daughter’s artistic talents.
